The Glasgow Police Department is dedicated to the citizens of Glasgow. Our department is made-up of 48 employees which include 36 sworn Police Officers, 8 Telecommunications Operators, and 2 Traffic Control Officers. The Police Department employees are trained and certified through the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training which ensures the citizens of Glasgow that it's Police Department is held to the highest standards of proper skill, training and professionalism.
The GPD is a combination of several different divisions to better ensure proper protection, service and safety. The department consist of a Patrol Division, a Detective Division (CID) with 3 full time detectives, a Critical Emergency Response Team (CERT) who are specially trained to handle high risk situations. The Telecommunications Division, along with the 911 Center, has the most modern and up-to-date system available which includes the Cad system, LINK/NCIC, and mapping system. |

The mission of the Glasgow Fire Department to protect life and property within our community through dedication in fire, medical and rescue operations by means of education, training and prevention. This will be accomplished as quickly, as effectively, as skillfully and as safely as possible, with compassion.Over the years the size of the department has grown to a total of 45 with 33 firefighting personnel working 24 hour shifts. The Administrative staff consists of Chief, Assistant Chief, Battalion Chief and Secretary. The department is dispatched by an enhanced 911 system with a total of eight dispatchers working for the department. Certification as a firefighter requires 400 training hours in specified fields to be completed within one year. Thereafter firefighters must maintain at least 100 hours training per year. |

The Sanitation Division of the City of Glasgow Department of Public Works is responsible for the collection and disposal of residential solid waste in the city limits of Glasgow. Curbside collection is provided by this division using city-owned and operated vehicles and equipment. Solid waste is transported to the Glasgow Regional Landfill, which is owned and operated by the City of Glasgow. This division also operates curbside recycling collection in the city limits of Glasgow. Curbside recycling is collected on the same day as scheduled garbage pick-up. |

Our primary goal is to provide the very best quality drinking water and sewer collection to our valued customers at the lowest possible price. The Glasgow Water Company will continue to pursue improving techniques for treatment, distribution, and collection to ensure continued growth in our community, a healthier environment, and a better future for our children. |
